Before you start
Slack alerts are on the Starter and Team plans. Any workspace owner or admin connects Slack once for the whole workspace; everyone else sees a note asking them to find one.
One Slack workspace connects to one Veew workspace. Veew asks to post messages and list channels so you can pick one. It never reads your Slack messages.
Connect
- 1Go to Settings → Integrations and open the Slack card under Messaging.
- 2Choose Connect Slack. Slack asks which workspace to add Veew to and shows the permissions: post messages, list channels, and see the private channels you're in so Veew can join the one you pick.
- 3Approve it. You land back in Veew with the Slack card open and a No channel yet badge in its header. Nothing is posted until you pick a channel.
Pick the default channel
Every deal posts to the default channel unless the deal has its own.
- 1In the Slack card, choose a channel under Default channel. Public channels are listed first, then private ones.
- 2Choose Save.
- 3To check it, choose Send a test in the card's header. Veew posts a short "Veew is connected" message to the channel and tells you where it went.
Give a deal its own channel
For an account that has its own channel, open the deal and find Slack at the bottom of the Details panel. Click the channel shown there and pick another one. It saves as soon as you choose. Pick the default option to send it back to the workspace default.
Any member who can edit the deal can change its channel. The Slack card in Settings shows how many deals have their own channel. If there is no default channel, only deals with their own channel post anything.
Private channels
Veew can post to any public channel without being invited. For private channels, the list shows the ones that the person who connected Slack is in. A private channel Veew hasn't joined yet is marked "Veew joins when picked", and Veew joins it when an admin picks it.
Members who aren't admins only see the private channels Veew has already joined.
- 1For a private channel the connecting person isn't in, open it in Slack, type /invite @Veew and press Enter.
- 2Back in Settings → Integrations, choose Refresh channels in the Slack card. The channel now appears in the list.
What Veew posts
Each post is one short message with links back to Veew. Opens are grouped: a buyer reading in several tabs is one post, and repeat opens of the same link within half an hour are silent. The first open by a named recipient always posts. Your own email notification settings don't change what goes to Slack.
- A buyer opens a live document
- What the post says
- Who opened it (when known), which open it is, their device and country, with links to the insights and the document
- A buyer opens the Deal Space
- What the post says
- That someone opened the Deal Space for the company, with links to the deal and the space
- A buyer accepts
- What the post says
- Their name and email, the package they chose, and any note they left
- A buyer asks a question or replies
- What the post says
- The comment, the section it is on, and a link to reply in Veew
- A buyer sends a Form section
- What the post says
- Every answer, one per line
- Someone comes back to an expired or withdrawn link
- What the post says
- Who asked for access and their note, when they filled in the form, with a link to reopen it
- A live proposal goes quiet, or was never opened
- What the post says
- Opens, readers, days since the last open, and the section they spent longest on
- A link is about to expire
- What the post says
- When it expires, and whether anyone has opened it
- A buyer comes back after at least two quiet weeks
- What the post says
- Who came back and how many quiet days it had been
Reconnect or disconnect
If Slack stops accepting posts (the app was removed, the channel was archived, or Veew was taken out of a private channel), the Slack card shows what went wrong. Pick another channel or choose Reconnect. Reconnecting keeps the channels you already chose.
Disconnect in the Slack card stops all posts, and deals that had their own channel forget it. If the workspace moves to the Free plan, the connection stays but posts stop until you upgrade again.
