For consultants
Consulting proposals that read like the first week of the engagement.
For a consultant, the proposal is the first sample of the work. It has to prove you listened, structure the problem, and price it without a negotiation over every line. Veew drafts the objectives and approach from your discovery notes, prices it by phase from your rate card, and gives you a document that looks like a firm three times your size.
Northwind: Platform rollout
A proposal for Northwind Logistics, prepared by Northstar Software.
The situation
Northwind Logistics is growing faster than its operating model. The symptoms are familiar: decisions wait on people rather than process, the same information is rebuilt in several places, and leadership sees results weeks after they happen.
This engagement finds the two or three constraints that matter, proves the fixes on the ground, and leaves Northwind Logistics with a roadmap it can fund and a team that can run it.
Objectives
What success looks like at the end of the engagement. Every deliverable below traces back to one of these.
Find the real constraint
Identify where throughput is actually lost, with data rather than anecdote.
A roadmap leadership can fund
A prioritized 12-month plan with cost, effort, and expected impact for each initiative.
Quick wins inside the engagement
At least two improvements implemented during the work itself, not just recommended.
How we work
A method we've run many times, adapted to how Northwind Logistics actually operates.
Diagnose
Interviews, process walks, and data pulls. We map the work as it is, not as the org chart says.
Design
Options with trade-offs, not a single answer. You choose; we detail.
Pilot
The two highest-impact changes run live with one team, measured weekly.
Embed
Playbooks, owners, and a cadence so the gains survive our departure.
Phases
Each phase ends with a decision meeting. Nothing proceeds without your sign-off.
Diagnose
Interviews, data, current-state map. Decision: constraints confirmed.
Design & pilot
Options, selection, two live pilots. Decision: roadmap priorities.
Embed
Playbooks, owners, handover. Decision: roadmap funded.
Deliverables & acceptance
| Phase | Deliverable | Accepted when |
|---|---|---|
| Diagnose | Current-state assessment and constraint analysis | Leadership confirms the top constraints |
| Diagnose | Baseline metrics | Agreed measures and starting values signed off |
| Design & pilot | Options paper with trade-offs | One option selected per constraint |
| Design & pilot | Two pilots, measured | Four weeks of weekly data against baseline |
| Embed | 12-month roadmap with business cases | Presented to and accepted by leadership |
| Embed | Playbooks and named owners | Handover session complete |
Feedback not raised within five business days of delivery is deemed acceptance.

Assumptions & dependencies
Northwind Logistics will nominate an executive sponsor and a working-level counterpart with roughly four hours a week available. Access to systems, data, and people will be provided within five business days of request.
Out of scope: implementation beyond the two pilots, technology selection, and change-management programs after handover. Changes to scope are agreed in writing with revised effort and dates.
Investment by phase
Fixed fee per phase, invoiced at the start of each phase. Expenses billed at cost with prior approval.

The problem
Why consulting proposals are hard to get right
The proposal is judged as the work
A loosely written scope signals a loosely run engagement. Clients read the proposal as a preview of your thinking.
Discovery gets lost in translation
You spent an hour understanding their situation. The proposal written two days later opens with your methodology instead of their problem.
Pricing by phase is fiddly
Options, phases, day rates, expenses. In a doc table it has errors; in a spreadsheet it never looks right.
How Veew helps
What Veew does for a consultant
Objectives in their words
Veew reads your call notes and drafts the situation, objectives, and success criteria the way the client described them.
A scope with phases and milestones
Approach, phases, deliverables, and timeline laid out as a plan the client can follow, with assumptions and exclusions where they belong.
Investment by phase or option
Fixed fee, day rate, or retainer. Several options in one table, totals that add up, and the client picks on the link.
Credibility built in
Case studies and testimonials from your library, chosen for the industry and the problem. Nothing invented, ever.
The engagement's documents in one place
The proposal, the deck, and the summary for the sponsor collect at one link for the engagement, without you building anything. The client always finds the current version there.
Templates
Start from a template built for this

Questions
Questions consultants ask
I work alone. Is Veew overkill?
No. The Free plan is one seat with 3 live documents, and Starter is $19 a month. Most independent consultants send a handful of proposals a month, which is exactly what it is built for.
I don't use a CRM.
You don't need one. Paste your notes or fill a short deal brief and Veew creates the deal for you. Connect a notetaker like Granola or Fathom and the notes arrive on their own.
Can I reuse my methodology?
Yes. Save your best proposal as a template with the sections you always include, and lock the ones that must never change, like terms.
Do I get a PDF?
Every proposal is a hosted link and a matching PDF rendered from the same design. Send whichever the client prefers.
