Executive Briefing Template

An executive isn't evaluating your product. They're deciding whether the problem deserves their attention this quarter. So every slide here answers one of their questions (what is this, what does waiting cost, what would change, who else has done it, what are you asking me for) and nothing answers a question they didn't ask. Six slides, closer to a board paper than a sales meeting.

Manual compliance review on commercial loans costs Kestrel about $240k a year and grows with every loan you write. Automating the checks pays back in about eight months, with the first portfolio running on it this quarter.

03

What would change

    For the business

Loans close days sooner, without adding reviewers as volume grows.

    For the team

Reviewers stop re-checking the same forty fields by hand on every file.

    For risk

Every check logged and exceptions flagged, ready for the examiners.

Where the AI comes in

Veew drafts the briefing from the deal: the short version from what the buyer's team told you, the cost of waiting from figures they gave you, the reference from your approved proof library. Where there's no baseline, the AI leaves the gap marked, because an executive checks the first number and discounts the rest if it's wrong.

What's inside

The slides, and the job each one does

01

The short version

Two sentences an executive could repeat to their board, with three numbers: the cost of the status quo, payback, and time to the first result.

02

What waiting costs

A three-year chart of the current process from the account's own figures, with the source of each number in the footnote.

03

What would change

Three changes in executive terms (the business, the team, risk), never features. One line each.

04

Who has done this

The most senior, most recognizable reference you can cite, ideally a peer company, on a dark band.

05

What we're asking for

At most two asks, both things this executive can do personally: a decision with a date, and a sponsor.

FAQ

What is an executive briefing in sales?

A short meeting, usually twenty to thirty minutes, where you present the business case to a senior decision-maker. It's about whether the problem is worth solving now and what decision is needed, not a product walkthrough.

How long should an executive briefing deck be?

Five to seven slides. Executives read the first two and decide whether to keep listening; anything that needs a demo to understand belongs in a different meeting.

What's the difference between an executive briefing and an executive summary?

An executive summary is the first section of a document, written to be read alone. An executive briefing is a meeting with slides, built to end in a decision. For the written page a champion takes into that meeting, see the business case template.
