What a brand kit is
A brand kit is the look and voice every document starts from: a logo, a white logo for dark covers, three colors and a type pairing, plus the company details the AI writes with (Company name, Website, About us, Standard terms and Tone of voice). It lives under Settings → Brand, on the page called Company & brand.
Every workspace has one kit, on every plan. On Team you can add more (a sub-brand, a region, a partner program) and upload your own fonts. Members can read the page; only owners and admins can change it.
Set up your kit
- 1Go to Settings → Brand.
- 2Under Company, fill in Company name and Website. Refresh from website reads the site and suggests a name, About us, logo and colors. Tick what you want, choose Apply, and remember nothing is saved until you choose Save.
- 3Under Brand, choose Upload logo for the standard version, for light backgrounds. Upload white logo is optional; it is used automatically on colored and dark covers.
- 4Set the three Colors: Primary (cover backgrounds, buttons), Secondary (alternate backgrounds, headings) and Accent (labels, numbers, calls to action). Extract from logo suggests them from your logo, or start from one of the palettes. Neutrals are worked out for you.
- 5Pick a Type pairing and choose Save. Every new document picks the kit up automatically.
- On Team, the Brand card also has Preview image for shared links: a 1200 × 630 image a link shows in email, Slack or LinkedIn when a document has no picture of its own. Without one, Veew draws a card from the document in your colors.
Add more brand kits
On Team, a row of kit cards sits above the form, with the default kit marked Default. Click a card to open that kit.
- 1Choose New kit, then Blank kit to start empty, or Duplicate to copy the kit that is open (the copy's name ends in "copy").
- 2Give it a Kit name, fill in its company details, logo, colors and type, and choose Save.
- 3To make a kit the default, open it, choose the ⋯ menu next to New kit, and choose Set as default. New documents start in the default kit.
- 4To delete a kit, open it and choose ⋯ → Delete kit. The default kit can't be deleted (make another one the default first). A kit that documents or templates still use can't be deleted either: Veew tells you how many use it so you can switch them first. The kit's logo and images stay in your media library.
Use a kit on a document or template
New documents start in the default kit. To use another one, open the document, choose Theme in the editor's top bar and pick from Brand kit. The document then uses that kit's logo, colors and type, and switching re-applies the kit's colors to the theme. The Brand kit picker only appears once the workspace has more than one kit.
Do the same in the template editor, and every document made from that template starts in that kit: its logo, colors, type and terms.
Upload your own fonts
Fonts are a Team feature and belong to the workspace, so every kit can use them. There are two slots: Heading font (titles, section headings, the cover) and Body font (paragraphs, lists, tables, prices). Each slot takes Regular, Bold, Italic and Bold italic files.
- 1Go to Settings → Brand and scroll to Fonts.
- 2Type the Family name, for example Acme Display, then choose Upload next to Regular. Regular is required; the other variants are optional.
- 3Add Bold, Italic and Bold italic the same way. Replace swaps a file, the x next to a variant removes just that file, and Remove takes the whole family off.
- 4Open a kit, choose Your fonts as its Type pairing, and choose Save. Your fonts only appears in the list once a font is uploaded.
- Files can be .woff2, .ttf or .otf, up to 2 MB each. .woff files and font collections are not accepted.
- Check that your font license allows web embedding: the files are served with every document, link and PDF.
- PowerPoint exports name the font family rather than embedding it. If the buyer doesn't have the font installed, PowerPoint substitutes another.
If you leave Team
Nothing is taken away. Extra kits stay, documents and templates keep using them, and uploaded fonts keep rendering. You can still switch between kits, edit them, delete them and remove fonts. Adding another kit or uploading a font needs Team again.
If you remove your fonts, documents set to Your fonts fall back to the Editorial pairing. During the 14-day Team trial, kits and fonts work exactly as they do on Team.
