Create and edit a document

Proposals, sales decks and one-pagers: how to start one, and how the editor works.

Start a document

Veew makes three kinds of document: proposals, sales decks and one-pagers. All three are written from a deal, and all three come out of the same editor.

  1. 1From a deal: open the deal, use the + New menu on the Documents card, and pick New proposal, New sales deck or New one-pager. This is the quickest path because the deal's fields and call notes are already there.
  2. 2From Documents: choose Create new and pick Proposal, Sales deck or One-pager. You then pick a template and fill in the deal fields on the way in.
  3. 3From anywhere: press ⌘K (Ctrl K) and pick New proposal, New sales deck or New one-pager. On Home, the box that says Tell Veew what to create takes a plain sentence such as "Pitch deck for tomorrow's demo with Initech, keep it to eight slides".
  4. 4On the create step, check the fields under What the proposal will use. Each one shows where it came from: from deal, from call, default or needed. Add anything under Anything to emphasize?, leave Draft with AI on, and choose Generate proposal. Switch Draft with AI off to get the template with the fields filled and no narrative.

Find your way around the editor

The left panel has two tabs. Sections lists every section of the document: drag the handle to reorder, or use ⌘↑ and ⌘↓. Add is the catalogue of sections you can insert (Cover, Executive summary, Challenges & goals, Our approach, Pricing, Timeline, Case study, Testimonial, Your team, Terms, Next steps, Text, Image, Video, Stats row, Table, FAQ, Columns and more). Click one to insert it after the selected section, or drag it onto the page. Sections you have saved appear under Your sections.

Select a section and its drawer opens with three tabs: content (the words and items), design (background, density, width, layout variant) and logic (visibility, locking, and whether AI drafts it). Hide the panel with ⌘\.

The top bar has Undo and Redo (⌘Z, ⌘⇧Z), a Desktop preview / Phone preview switch, Fields (every variable in the document, editable in one place, with a red dot when something is missing), Theme (colours, type and corners), and a More menu with Save as template, Manage templates and History.

Variables and fields

Text such as {{company.name}} or {{deal.amount}} is a variable. It is filled from the deal when the document is created and can be changed any time from the Fields button in the top bar. In any text box, the {{ }} button (Insert a field) lists every built-in and custom field. Custom fields are defined once under Settings → Fields.

Numbers, currencies and dates are formatted for you: a currency field shows $54,000, a date shows September 30, 2026.

Hide, duplicate, save, restore

  1. 1To hide a section without deleting it, open its logic tab (or the row's Visibility… menu item) and choose Hide. It stays in the editor, dimmed, and is left out of the shared link and the PDF. Only when a field matches… shows it conditionally, for example only when a deal is above a certain amount.
  2. 2A section's row menu also offers Duplicate, Rename, Save to your sections (so you can reuse it in other documents) and Delete. Select several with shift-click or ⌘-click to duplicate, hide or delete them together.
  3. 3Every save is kept. More → History lists the versions, shows which one the shared link is serving, and restores any of them with Confirm.
