How it works
When a buyer accepts a proposal, Veew can show them a button that opens your own payment page: a Stripe Payment Link, a checkout page, an invoice or a deposit form. The button appears on the thank-you screen and in the confirmation email the buyer receives.
Veew never takes the payment. There is no payment account to connect and nothing is charged through Veew. The button links to a page you already have, and the buyer pays there. Card details never pass through Veew.
Payment links are on Starter and Team.
Add a payment link
The link belongs to this one document. Templates don't carry one, so add it to each proposal that needs it. The line under the pricing only shows in the editor. Buyers never see it, and it is left out of the PDF.
- 1Open the document in the editor and find its Pricing section. The payment link is set there, under the prices.
- 2Under the pricing, choose After they accept: no payment link.
- 3Paste the address of your payment page into Payment page. It must start with https://.
- 4Under Button says, write the words for the button, such as Pay the deposit. If you leave it as is, it says Pay now.
- 5Optionally add a Note, one line that sits under the button, such as "A 30% deposit secures your start date."
- 6Choose Save. The line under the pricing now shows your button's words.
Change or remove it
Choose the same line under the pricing to change the address, the words or the note, or choose Remove link to take the button off. Changes apply to the live link straight away; you don't need Update link.
What the buyer sees
The button only appears after they accept. If they come back to the page later, it is no longer there; the confirmation email still has it.
- 1The buyer chooses the accept button in your Next steps section, fills in their name, work email and an optional note, and chooses Accept.
- 2The page thanks them and shows your button beside the thank-you, with your note under it. The button opens your payment page in a new tab.
- 3Their confirmation email carries the same button. It also says the payment page is yours and that nothing is charged by Veew, and links back to the proposal.
Deposits, amounts, tax and currency
Veew doesn't send an amount to your payment page. The buyer pays whatever that page asks for, so set the amount, currency, tax and any discount on the page itself.
For a deposit, link a page set to the deposit amount and say so in the button and note. For the full amount, link a page set to the total.
If the buyer can pick a package, add-ons or quantities, the total they accept can differ from a fixed-price link. In that case, use a page where they can enter the amount, or leave the button off and send an invoice once you see what they chose. What they chose is in the acceptance email you receive and on the document's Insights page.
Payments and refunds
When a buyer presses the button on the thank-you screen, the document's Insights page lists it under Recent activity as "opened the payment link". Presses in the confirmation email are not recorded.
Whether they paid, and any refund, is handled in your payment provider. Veew never sees the payment or the card.
Plans
Payment links are on Starter and Team. On Free, saving a link is refused with a pointer to Settings → Billing. If a workspace moves from a paid plan to Free, the saved link is kept, but buyers stop seeing the button until the workspace is back on Starter or Team.
