What the app does
The Pipedrive connection lets you start a proposal, sales deck or one-pager from a Pipedrive deal. The organization, value, expected close date and the fields you choose come in without retyping, and Veew reports back to the deal when the buyer acts on the document.
- Import a deal into Veew. Search your deals from Veew by deal title or organization name and bring one in with its organization.
- Stay current. When a deal you imported changes or is deleted in Pipedrive, Veew refreshes its copy.
- Write back. A note on the deal when a document is sent, accepted, commented on, or its form is answered, and four Veew fields on the deal that track the latest document and its views. Write-back is part of the Starter and Team plans.
What Veew never changes
Veew never changes your deal value, stage, pipeline, owner, organization, persons, or any field you didn't map. The only things it writes are notes on the deal and its own four custom deal fields, whose names start with "Veew".
Before you start
- A Pipedrive account on any plan. Veew signs in as you and works with the deals you can see.
- A Pipedrive admin is best. Veew can then add its four custom deal fields for you. Anyone can connect; if Veew can't add the fields, an admin adds them by hand later (see If Veew can't add its fields).
- A Veew workspace where you are an owner or admin. Importing deals works on every plan; write-back to Pipedrive needs Starter or Team.
- One Pipedrive company connects to one Veew workspace, and the connection is shared by everyone in that workspace.
Connect
- 1In Veew, go to Settings → Integrations and click Connect Pipedrive.
- 2Sign in to Pipedrive if asked. If you belong to more than one Pipedrive company, choose the one to connect.
- 3
- 4You return to Settings → Integrations, with Pipedrive shown as connected and your company's Pipedrive address on the card.
What connecting sets up
- A starting field map: the organization's name, industry and website, plus the deal's title, value and expected close date. You can change it any time.
- Four custom deal fields, created a moment after you connect, named "Veew" followed by latest document, document status, last viewed and total views. Last viewed is a date, because Pipedrive custom fields have no date-and-time type.
- A webhook named Veew, so Pipedrive can tell Veew when a deal changes or is deleted. Veew acts only on deals you imported.
Map your fields
The field map decides which Pipedrive fields fill which Veew fields, and so which facts the AI and your templates can use.
- 1In Veew, go to Settings → Fields. Once Pipedrive is connected, the table has a Pipedrive column.
- 2For each field, pick the Deal, Organization or Person field that should fill it. Standard and custom fields are both listed, and only fields of a compatible type are offered: a number field takes numerical and monetary fields, a date field takes dates.
- 3To bring in a field Veew doesn't have yet, click Add field, create the Veew field, then map it. Changes apply to the next import or refresh.
Contacts
The person linked to the deal comes across with it, with their name, job title and primary email. They are added to the deal's Contacts list once, on the first import, and become the primary contact when the deal has none, filling {{contact.first_name}} and the other contact variables.
Map contact fields in the Pipedrive column only to pull custom Person fields into your documents.
People can always be added to the deal by hand on the deal page.
Import a deal
- 1In Veew, open Deals and click Import from Pipedrive, or click Import a deal on the Pipedrive card in Settings → Integrations.
- 2Search by deal title or organization name (at least two characters), or pick from the most recently updated deals.
- 3Pick the deal. Veew creates its own deal with the mapped fields and the deal's organization, and links it back to the deal in Pipedrive.
- Importing the same deal again updates the Veew deal you already have rather than making a second one.
- You can also type the company on Home, and Veew looks for a matching deal.
Keeping deals current
Pipedrive notifies Veew when a deal changes. When a deal you imported changes in Pipedrive, Veew refreshes its copy within a few minutes, and if the deal is deleted the Veew deal is marked so and its documents, notes and fields are kept.
As a backstop, every hour Veew re-reads deals whose copy is more than six hours old, as long as the deal is still being worked on: it has a draft or live document, or changed in the last 30 days. Starting a document from a deal also re-reads it in the background when its copy is more than an hour old, and Refresh on the deal page pulls the latest at once.
A field you edited in Veew keeps your edit, and the deal page shows Pipedrive's newer value with Use it so you can take it if you want.
Write-back to Pipedrive
On Starter and Team, Veew writes two things to deals it imported. On Free it imports and stays current, but writes nothing to Pipedrive.
- A note on the deal when a document is sent (with the link and who it went to), accepted (with who accepted and the option they chose), commented on by the buyer, or its form is answered. Long comments and form answers are cut short. Notes are added as the person who connected Pipedrive.
- The four Veew fields on the deal, updated when a document is published or its status changes, and as buyers view it (at most once every ten minutes per link): the latest document's link, its status, the date it was last viewed, and its total views. Use them in list views, filters and reports.
If Veew can't add its fields
If the person who connected isn't a Pipedrive admin, notes are still added, the Write-back line on the Pipedrive card says Partly, and the card lists the four field names. A Pipedrive admin can add them by hand:
- 1In Pipedrive, go to Company settings → Data fields → Deals and click Add custom field.
- 2Create four fields, copying each name exactly as Settings → Integrations lists it: latest document and document status as Text, last viewed as Date, and total views as Numerical.
- 3Veew finds the fields by name the next time it updates the deal.
Data Veew reads and writes
These are the permissions (scopes) Veew's Pipedrive app has, and what each is for. Veew reads a deal only when you import it, refresh it, start a document from it, or Pipedrive reports a change to a deal you imported, and it stores only the fields you map. It does not copy your whole account.

Disconnect
Disconnecting stops Veew talking to Pipedrive. You can connect again any time.
- 1In Veew, go to Settings → Integrations (owners and admins only).
- 2On the Pipedrive card, click Disconnect and confirm.
What disconnecting does to your data
- Veew removes its webhook, deletes its stored tokens and asks Pipedrive to revoke them. Pipedrive treats that as uninstalling Veew, so it can no longer read or write anything in your account.
- Deals you imported, and the documents made from them, stay in Veew. They stop refreshing from Pipedrive.
- Nothing is deleted in Pipedrive. Notes Veew added and the values in the four Veew fields stay on your deals.
- Your field map is kept, so reconnecting picks up where you left off.
Uninstall
Uninstalling removes Veew from your Pipedrive account.
- 1In Pipedrive, go to Tools and apps → Marketplace apps.
- 2Find Veew and click the ... menu next to it.
- 3Click Uninstall and confirm.
What uninstalling does to your data
- Pipedrive revokes Veew's access and tells Veew straight away. Veew can no longer read or write anything, deals stop refreshing, and the Pipedrive card in Veew's Settings → Integrations says Veew was uninstalled in Pipedrive, with Reconnect. Reconnecting keeps your field map and sets up deal notifications again.
- Pipedrive apps are installed per person, so this only happens when the person who connected Veew uninstalls it. Someone else in your Pipedrive company removing their own copy doesn't affect the connection.
- Notes Veew added, and the four Veew fields with their values, stay in Pipedrive. To remove the fields, delete them under Company settings → Data fields → Deals.
- Imported deals and documents stay in Veew. To remove the connection there too, click Disconnect in Settings → Integrations. To have your Veew data deleted, delete the workspace or email support@veew.ai.
Troubleshooting
- "Only workspace owners and admins can connect integrations." Ask an owner or admin of your Veew workspace to connect, or to change your role under Settings → Team.
- The authorization link expired. The link Veew sends you to Pipedrive with is valid for 15 minutes. Start again from Settings → Integrations → Connect Pipedrive.
- "That Pipedrive company is already connected to another Veew workspace." One company connects to one workspace. Disconnect it from the other workspace first.
- Pipedrive no longer accepts the connection. Veew was uninstalled in Pipedrive, or the connection went unused for 60 days. Click Reconnect; imported deals are untouched.
- "Write-back needs attention" and Pipedrive refused a write. Give the person who connected permission to edit deals and add notes, then click Reconnect. Importing keeps working meanwhile.
- Write-back says Partly. Veew couldn't add its four fields. Notes are still added; see If Veew can't add its fields.
- Nothing appears on the deal. Write-back needs the Starter or Team plan, and only deals imported into Veew get notes and field values.
- Search finds nothing. Type at least two characters of the deal title or organization name. With fewer, Veew lists the most recently updated deals.
- A field is empty after import. Check its mapping in Settings → Fields, and that the field has a value on that deal, its organization or its person in Pipedrive.
Support
Email support@veew.ai, use the contact form, or ask the assistant from Help inside Veew. A person replies, usually within one business day.
