One-page template
Customer Success Plan Template
Kickoff decks get presented once. The success plan is the page that stays open all year: three goals the customer set, one metric for each with a baseline and a target, milestones with named owners, and the date of the next review. Written down and agreed, it turns next year's renewal into a conversation about a document everyone already signed up to.

Who this template is for
- Customer success managers onboarding a new account
- Accounts where the renewal depends on outcomes, not just usage
- Sales-to-CS handoffs, where the customer's goals tend to get lost
Veew carries the goals over from the deal: the same success measures that were in the proposal, so the plan doesn't quietly restate what was sold. Metrics come only from numbers the customer can check, and the plan sits on the same account record as the QBR deck and the renewal proposal, so all three tell the same story.
What's inside
The sections, and the job each one does
Our goals
Three goals the customer set, carried over from the proposal or kickoff word for word. None of ours added.
How we'll measure it
One metric per goal, each with a baseline and a target date, on a dark band. Only numbers the customer's own reporting can produce.
Milestones
Milestone, owner, date, status. Updated every review, and nothing marked on track that isn't.
Who's involved
The executive sponsor and day-to-day owner on their side; the accountable CSM and a technical contact on yours.
Next review
The date and what it covers. No call to action: this is a working document.
FAQ
What is a customer success plan?
A short, shared document that records what the customer wants to achieve, how it will be measured, the milestones to get there, and who owns each one. Customer success teams use it to steer onboarding and quarterly reviews, and it becomes the basis for the renewal.
What should a customer success plan include?
The customer's goals in their words, a metric with a baseline and target for each, dated milestones with owners on both sides, the people involved, and a review cadence. Keep it to one page so it actually gets reopened.
How often should you update a success plan?
At every review, and at least quarterly. Update the status column honestly: a plan that shows everything on track until the month before renewal does more damage than one that shows a slip early.
